Get a Grip on Doomsday
Doom and gloom seems to be a theme
touted and bandied about by many “survival” gurus”. It is a scare tactic by
many who seem to think they are on to something new.
In my lifetime, fear mongers have not changed their
dooomsday chant. A few names have changed, from the Russians are coming to the
Koreans are coming to the Chinese are coming—name your favorite country or
enemy like the terrorist flavor of the day.
The threats seem real, especially for third world countries
in the midst of war and famine. For us, the thought is a terrifying one, if you
are easily taken in.
Threat of terrorist groups will not take on a whole country,
but will chip away at our way of life and most likely freeze people in place by
a few actions that will affect a few.
For at least a hundred years, the fear factor, as fired up
by the doomsday gurus, has been with us. For the most part, they have been
wrong about the big threats, but it is the little close to home threats that we
need to pay attention to.
I, for one, think threats are part real and part our own
paranoid self. To be ready for any thing is a good idea, but inflating the
price of all goods is a real threat to us all.
We cant all hunker down in a bunker for the rest of our
lives. Lawless gangs are on the rise and they are not shy about who they will
take on.
We might have a food shortage and in this country is nothing
new.
During WW2 we had food shortages. I remember going to the
market with my mom and no meat was available. Though the shortages were due to
the war effort, back then. Today, big agriculture has taken over and can lead
to problems.
The hardened home with alarms, security cameras and a steel
door might not be a luxury anymore but might be a must. Violent crime is a real
threat we need to deal with.
Just observing the news tells me most will not die in a gun
fight in their home. Don;t let the “scare” (news) control you. It is a matter
of how you adapt to any new threat . Most of the doomsayers are full of BS and
ready to separate you from your hard earned buck. Try to concern yourself with
what is real as opposed to a dismal future that is being painted for us, by
doomsday gurus who really have their heads up their… A lot of folks keep
falling for the same snake oil by the same salesmen peddling another story of
doom.
We are better than the stories that are fiction fed to us by
the doomsday guru of the day, who is a self appointed know it all.
Step back and and take a look at the bigger picture.
doomsday fears are just way too real for many.. and it could happen but we cant live like that in fear of each day, thats no way tro live your life
