"Knowledge = Your Own Personal Power"

"Knowledge = Your Own Personal Power"

The saying "knowledge equals power" is not just a saying to be taken lightly . In any endeavor in life your personal knowledge is a key element to any conclusion, whether good or a fail. In the survival arena , so much misinformation and just plain old myth can subvert your thinking about the right moves. Research is a key to opening the truth be it what food storage is better or best, how to store such things , to guns and ammo to other essential supplies for your family and yourself . Myriad ways to secure your future in the case of any disruption , economic and storm included. The info can be mind boggling to anyone .

The trick is to find as much info as you can cram into your brain, and then have the ability to sort it out in a concise and prudent manner. By a process of elimination of what truly makes sense as opposed to a fantasy  that is supplied by many gurus trying to sell you a product that in truth is bunk. You find products that really do nothing but is covered up by a fancy dressing of slick advertising and claims. Quotes are a big deal in this type of advertising . Anyone can make up a quote that helps sell the product. The other side of that is to look for an outfit that has a long survival life in that market, have they been in business for how long , that of course does not cover any new company that may have an excellent product. I suggest that any new product be compared to any older product and just may be dressed up in a different package.

The competition is brutal for the survivors buck. The term Prepper  is just another word to make survivilist sound softer to many new folks, so it is more politically correct for todays world, when in fact they are one in the same. Magazines have a lot of info but beware of articles when you see an advertisement for that product in the magazine . IT was just a trade off for article placement in most cases that the product company paid for. This is an old trick. There are exceptions but just be aware. It is not bait and switch but doing business and many times not in your favor. A fine line.

Forums can have conflicting info but more truth comes from reading many forums than not. Many forums seem to have some members who have great knowledge and experience , buy asking questions no matter how naive,  you are sure to get some good answers, much more honest than magazine articles in most cases.  I suggest to go to many forums with the same questions. Compile what you feel is right on the money, after all it is your money to spend as wisely as you can,  and being a prudent consumer is what you need in your personal armory of information.

Flipping through several survival magazines they are loaded with ads. It is a deafening  roar for the battle for your hard earned bucks. The Survival market is now big money and it is reflected by the type of ads  we see. When any magazine has more ad space than real content , I tend to not buy that magazine. By being an informed consumer you are in a better place to make critical decisions for your future. Ads do not make a product work as advertise, they just say they will. Too be fair many work as advertised,  it is up to you by your own research to make that determination. A tough attitude is needed and do not be pushed by any any panic you may feel that you need this thing right now. In most cases you have time to make a prudent move.

Being frugal by nature I practice what I preach here. Researching is your key to finding what works., taking your time will pay off in the long run.
if it is so urgent you are too late already . Dont be that guy, set up a plan of priorities,  proceed from that point on.  It will pay you back in spades. Think before you buy any product from anyone. Who are they , what are they and why do you need it.

Any fool can spend money , we have all been there , so stop it now. Be your own personal power
